# Claim: Albania’s anti‑corruption prosecutors froze Jared Kushner’s assets in a $4 billion resort fraud investigation.

Verdict: 45%
Model: Kimi K2.6
Checked on: 18/06/2026

## Verdict explanation

**Fact-check:**

- Albanian anti-corruption prosecutors (SPAK) did freeze bank accounts of a company involved in a luxury resort project linked to Jared Kushner's firm, Affinity Partners[^1].
- However, the frozen assets belonged to **Albania Land Development**, a local company owned by Qatari entrepreneurs Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat—not to Jared Kushner personally[^1][^2].
- The frozen amount was reportedly approximately **$148–195 million** in the company's accounts, not Kushner's personal assets[^3][^2].
- The $4 billion figure refers to the **total estimated value of the resort project**, not the amount frozen[^4][^1].
- The investigation is into **allegedly fraudulent property titles** in the protected coastal area, not into Kushner's personal assets[^5][^1][^4].
- Reports suggest the freeze may have been a **preventive seizure** that was potentially lifted within days, though details remain unconfirmed[^2].

**Overall validity**: 45%
