Verdict: 100%

## Verdict explanation

Based on my research, here is my analysis of the claim:

**Reasoning:**

- Multiple Canadian news sources confirm the federal government announced an additional $51 million in aid and reconstruction funding for Ukraine on Friday, April 3, 2026[^2][^4][^1][^3].
- The announcement was made by Randeep Sarai, Secretary of State for International Development, from the Kyiv Post newspaper office during an official visit to Ukraine[^2][^4][^1].
- The funding breakdown includes: $32 million for humanitarian aid (food, shelter, medical care) through organizations like the Red Cross, UN Refugee Agency, and World Food Programme; $5 million for veteran reintegration programming; $6 million for election preparation and voter education; and $5 million to UN Women to support Ukraine's EU accession efforts[^1][^2][^4].
- The funding comes from a broader fund outlined in Canada's 2025 budget rather than a standalone emergency appropriation[^2][^1].
- This brings Canada's total support for Ukraine to nearly $26 billion since Russia's 2022 invasion[^4][^1][^2].
